I'm interested in low energy neutron fluxes - but not thermal.
Because of memory issues I want to use the HP cross section tables w/o thermal
neutrons. While the version with the thermal neutrons works, the G4NDL0.2 hangs:
the program doesn't core dump, just hangs in there.

I'm using LHEP_BIC_HP.

G4NDL0.2 is rather old (1998) and has not been maintained for several years.
This is likely the cause of your problem.   We will probably no longer offer it
in the future because most people use G4NDL3.8, and because it would be a major
effort to upgrade it to the level of 3.8.   If this is a major problem for you,
you could submit a user request to upgrade the non-thermal version.  Then the
Geant4 collaboration would see if there are sufficient resources to allocate
to the upgrade.
