Sir,
  I am working on Sun OS 5.7. The complier "CC: WorkShop Compilers 5.0 98/12/15
C++ 5.0" installed on it. But, in the download area
"http://wwwinfo.cern.ch/asd/geant4/geant4.html"  the  library is available for
CC-version 5.2 for GEANT4.4.1. Should I proceed with the installation of
GEANT4.4.1 with the CC complier version 5.0. Please suggest me.

We cannot guarantee that libraries built with a different compiler
version will work properly. In general it is not so, especially
between major compiler releases. Moreover concerning CC-5.0, we
suggest you to indeed upgrade it, since from tests done in te past
at CERN, it showed serious bugs later on fixed in release 5.2.

Please, do not use the Problem Reporting System for normal queries,
