In attachment, the activation of metastable state Pb207[1633.356 keV] via the reaction Pb208 (n,2n) Pb207m in example Hadr03
The physics constructor is QGSP_BIC (see PhysicsList.cc)
Why there are so many dummy excited states created ?

These extra states do not appear in the PhotonEvaporation database or in G4NDL. Emilio thinks they may be caused by forced energy conservation. Could they be due to states created in G4Precompound (or BIC since the physics list is QGSP_BIC)?

Unfortunately, the problem remain in the candidate version of Geant4, so will not be solved in 11.0, patch will be needed.

By the way, in the case of QGSP_BIC there is no final state adjustment, so the situation is still unclear and needs more deep debugging.

Hello Michel,

the problem is fixed and the fix will be propagated to the patch to 11.0, not sure about 10.7.
