I am still on the reaction alpha(5.4 MeV) on Be9 ! I noticed differences between ref06 and ref07. In ref06, there are important quasi-elastic interactions and few 3 alphas production. In ref07, these 2 channels have disappeared. As a consequence, the neutron production increases from 50% to 100% … which is not a small effect ! Is this expected ?
Which physics list are you using?
In Hadr03, constructor G4IonPhysics # Macro file for "Hadr03.cc" # /control/verbose 2 /run/verbose 1 # /testhadr/det/setIsotopeMat Be9 4 9 1.85 g/cm3 # /run/initialize # /process/list /process/inactivate hadElastic # /gun/particle alpha /gun/energy 5 MeV # /run/printProgress 10000 /run/beamOn 100000
The hadronic excitation code as used by G4Precompound is likely responsible and there have been changes there recently. I am re-assigning this to Vladimir.
Hi Michel, can you, please, run it with 10.3ref09 ? Vladimir
Created attachment 471 [details] output of Hadr03 HI Vladimir, output in attachement
Hi Michel, I have tried to check if we have a problem or not with this reaction now. In the attachment there is the result. I obtain it with QBBC hadron inelastic and G4IonPhysicsXS ion inelastic. There are a significant fraction of 3 alpha final state but for some reason in the printout there is no gamma, however, tracking verbose shows gamma in each event. Can we close this problem report or not? Cheers, Vladimir
Created attachment 512 [details] This is the result of Hadr03 for 10.4ref08
HI Vladimir, The bug report was created because I noticed signifiant differences between 10.2 ref-06 and ref-07. Since this time, the situation is rather stable, including 10.4 ref-08. But I do not know if the present neutron yield is reasonable or not. Concerning the number of gamma per event, I think it is just a problem of merging in MT mode. I will have a look. Michel
Because Hadr03 shows stable results, we can close this problem. VI
