Hello sir, I am trying to migrate from geant4.9.5_p02 to the latest geant4.9.6_p02. I use geant4 toolkit on 3 systems all running 32 bit windows 7 OS having different graphic cards: on-board Intel graphic card; NVidia GeForce 9500M and ATI Radeon HD 4xxx series. I have no problem using geant4.9.5_p02 on all three systems. I also have no problem running the latest geant4.9.6_p02 on Intel and Nvidia powered systems. But I have a major problem running geant4.9.6_p02 on my main PC which has ATI RADEON HD graphic card. The atioglxx.dll exception is raised and application crash. The atioglxx.dll is specific to ATI RADEON HD graphic driver. It is very strange since I had no problem with geant4.9.5 and also I have no problem with geant4.9.6 on the other two computers. Trying to reinstall geant4.9.6 did not solve the problem. Please look into that, Best regards, Dan PS. Browsing your "forum" for similar issue, I found the same atioglxx.dll error report by another user but it was not solved!

Browsing your "forum" for similar issue, I found the same atioglxx.dll > error report by another user but it was not solved! PS2: Finally, I manage to have visualization. I simply replace in vis.mac (visualization macro file): /vis/open OGL 600x600-0+0 with /vis/open OGLI No more atioglxx.dll error. Still, I know this is just a workaround and not a real solution to the bug.
Dear Dan Thanks for this bug report and workaround, which is that OGLI works OK on ATI Radeon for Geant4 9.6. Because of the difficulty of tracing this bug, and the fact that there is a workaround, I propose to close this bug report with a WONTFIX flag. (This is not because we would not like to fix - we would very much like to find this bug but the hardware resources and effort are not available at this time.) I will post your workaround on the Geant4 Forum. Best wishes John
