Some bugs are identified in NeutronHP for internal conversion transition. The correction to these bugs is proposed. For "E0 692keV transition of 72Ge" issue, we provided an approach to solve it.
This data file is for "E0 692keV transition of 72Ge" using in Geant4 neutron database. The usage please refer our bug report .pdf file.

showing the peak missing in the simulation

HI,

I am using Geant4.8.3 with G4NDL3.10 to simulate the neutron (E<20 MeV)
interactions with the germanium detector. In the energy spectrum measured by
the detector, there is a 692 keV peak from the internal conversion process:

   n + Ge72 -> n' + Ge72 + e

There is no this peak in the simulation, which can be seen in the
attached plot. Seems that the internal conversion process is not simulated.

Hi,
Thank you for reporting problem.

Yes internal conversion of 72Ge is not simulated
because there is no data in G4NDL(3.11) for the internal conversion.
(The code itself exist, so that if data is availvle then Geant4 will produce
internal conversion electrons for the reation).

Dear Chao,

Thank you for sending fixes.
For the bugs in the codes (for IC electron-case), the fix will include coming release.
But for add or change of the NDL file itself, I hesitate to do because it means modifying theā€œEvaluated files.

Thanks again.

Sincerely

Tatsumi
