Problem 367

Summary: No kaon mixing in hadronic elastic scattering
Product: Geant4 Reporter: dennis.herbert.wright
Component: processes/hadronicAssignee: Hans-Peter.Wellisch
Status: CLOSED WONTFIX
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Version: 4.0
Hardware: All
OS: All

Description dennis.herbert.wright 2002-04-23 16:27:51 CEST
G4LElastic currently does not decompose K0S and K0L into K0 and K0bar during
hadronic elastic scattering.

Proposal: for K0S or K0L initial state, randomly choose final state to be
K0 or K0bar. This will allow K0S regeneration to occur.
Comment 1 Hans-Peter.Wellisch 2002-05-02 08:24:59 CEST
True. K0 regeneration is no present. This one will be fixed, when I have the
issue of proper time since lst collision under control. Without, I can only
implement something wrong...

Many greetings,

Hans-Peter.

I have the theory part ready now, but it turns out that this one requires also
to re-do the decay, as we have to operate at the level of wafe-functions.

Since this K0 oszillation business is not small work - do you agree that we move
this from a bug-report to a requirement?

Many greetings,

Hans-Peter.
Comment 3 Hans-Peter.Wellisch 2002-11-18 07:45:59 CET
As discussed during the workshop, kaon mixing cannot be implemented like this.
The 'fast fix' in the imelastic part will be released with the next release.
The rest is to be scheduled.

Many greetings,

Hans-Peter.
