Description Vladimir.Ivantchenko 2017-12-17 19:41:21 CET
Giovanni Santin inform about 7% shift of signal in PIN diode used for test beam beam-line at SPS for Xe beam 40 GeV/nuc. The silicon diode has thickness 0.3 mm.
This is likely due to problem in ion stopping power corrections, used by Geant4.

After study of the problem it become clear that there is no bug in the G4BetheBlochMod used in majority of physics Lists but limitation of the model. The new G4LindhardSorensenIonModel is based on more extended theory and improving ion stopping power. So, it is development and no bug fix will be provided.
