updated Sr-85 decay file

I know that ENSDF files are processed automatically

In Sr-85 ENSDF file,
EC branching ratio to ground level of Rb-85 is set to 8 %
EC branching ratio to level 514 keV of Rb-85 is set to 96 % (uncertainty 4)

In the decay data scheme, available at the following adresses, theses values are set to 4 and 96

http://www.nndc.bnl.gov/chart/decaysearchdirect.jsp?nuc=85SR&unc=nds
http://www.nndc.bnl.gov/chart/getdecayscheme.jsp?nucleus=85RB&dsid=85sr%20ec%20decay%20(64.849%20d)&unc=nds

ENSDF processing normalizes data so a factor of about 100/104 is applied to Sr-85 data

So 514 keV gamma intensity is set to about 92.3 % instead of 96 %

I have only checked radioactivedecay databases v4.2.X and V4.3.X

I have also checked NUCLEIDES-DDEP evaluation which is quite different (branching ratio to ground level is 0.8%,branching ratio to 514keV level is 99.2%)

I join an updated file:
ENSDF based file with 4% to Rb-85 ground level intensities: updated_ENSDF_z38.a85

Best regards,

Gilles Grégoire

Dear Gilles,

Thanks for your information concerning the Sr-85 decay file.
Indeed most of the files in the databases are produced automatically from ENSDF original data that contains sometimes contradictory data. It is not possible for to write by hand more than 2000 files. Therefore we appreciate the correction send by the user. In the future we plan to correct/improve files case by case to avoid any big corruption of the data. My plan is this year to improve some radioactive decay and photo evaporation files by using the DDEP data. I will look at your proposed correction based on DDEP for Sr-85 and probably include it in a next version of the database.

Best regards

Laurent

Hello,

For your information I have correct the Sr-85 file for a future patch release of GEANT4.10.3 according to DDEP.

Best regards
