Problem 1852

Summary: Mn-54 decay scheme is incorrect in radioactivedecay version 4.3 : no beta minus branch

Description Gilles Grégoire 2016-04-05 14:24:27 CEST
We use the radioactive decay module for HpGe detector calibration.

We compare with experimental values obtained with radioactive standards including Mn-54, Sn-113, Co-60, Sr-85, Am-241, Cs-137, Cr-51, Ce-139, Y-88, Zn-65, Cr-51

The decay scheme of Mn-54 has been changed from radioactive decay database v4.2 to v4.3 (same in 4.3.1)

The beta-minus way has been changed for something negligible to 100 in file z25.a54 (line 9) so half of Mn-54 decays to Fe-54 (wrong!)

We will check data consistency for other measured nuclides.

Best regards,

Gilles Gregoire

Dear Mr. Gregoire,

We want to inform you the data for Mn-54 will be corrected with the new release g4.10.3

Best regards
